Metaphors and Analogies in Nature Journaling Journaling perfectly melds art and science by allowing us to tap into our observation skills, pay attention to ourselves, the details in nature and provide a sense of curiosity. Nature can tell us a lot if we expand our perspectives by learning more and listening to the stories it is trying to tell us.

The City of Angels River Walk - A Natural and Human History of the LA River A nature walk on how the concreted and channelized LA River changed the course of the river and the city, highlight the socio-economic and ecological effects, discuss which communities were impacted by the change, and spotlight collective actions occurring in the next few decades to restore the LA River to its natural state.

Fly Fishing for Beginners This fun workshop consists of introductory-level fly fishing instructions. Participants will learn about freshwater insects and their role in water quality, fly selections, knot tying, the basics of setting up a fly-fishing rod, insights on how to cast, an understanding of trout ecology and behavior.

Catch Feelings and Fish - An Intro to Fly Fishing and Connecting with Aquatic Ecosystems Personalized instructions will focus on using fly fishing as a tool and conversation starter to better understand freshwater aquatic ecosystems through connecting with the streams, lakes, rivers, fish, insects, and communities and how to better conserve these places as anglers and stewards.

Intro to Birding and Wildlife Photography This nature walk will focus on birding basics such as species identifications, using an identification guide, understanding bird and wildlife behavior and habitat, ethics and respect when photographing wildlife, staying patient and practicing mindfulness when waiting for your subject, tuning into our observational skills and developing the skills to capture wildlife photos.

Fly Fishing with Outdoor Asian Washington In collaboration with OAWA, this event consists of learning the basics of fly fishing and how to use it to propel efforts in conservation, being a steward, and building community.

Biking the Salmon Lifecycle Salmon endure one of the most remarkable feats known to nature during their migration back home. Join us on a bike ride along the Marine Drive Trail to follow the salmon migration journey and welcome them back home.
